Building an Empire

I just realized I have not worked on this site in a while so I'm putting some time in.

After reflecting on how so much time seems to have passed so soon I made one key realization:

Time flies when you're busy building an empire.

Over the past year I have worked hard to learn about and start investing, help change the culture of the environment where I work, and (almost) complete my Master's.

I look at each of these patterns of behavior as important building blocks in the dream that I envision.  What is that dream? To retire by age 40, find my passion and live it every day and give back to people who are working on achieving their dreams.

That second point has been a head scratcher for me...I wonder if there's anyone else out there who feels that way??

I mean, how do you find your true passion when you enjoy many things and you have more than one option? I've heard different philosophies and I think there is some truth in all of them.  I think that the key to remember is that "a watched pot never boils" and I'd rather not spend my time beating my head against a wall trying to figure something out when I can spend my time doing things I'm good at and that I enjoy.  Who knows? Maybe there is no "one true passion," maybe life is just a series of quasi-passionate patterns punctuated by epiphanies that it's time to move on to the next prospect.

For now, I'm working on creating passion in what is already in my life, because I believe that eventually I will be guided to discovering what "it" is that I am meant to do when the time is right.  I think that it's important to take the time to reflect and give thanks for what has been given to me, to give myself credit for all I have survived, all I have learned and all I have worked my booty off to achieve.
